A big thank you to Johnson County Sheriff Adam King and Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn for a great presentation. They touched on all the issues of concern. The mental health crisis was one of the hot topics. The statistics on how many of the inmates have mental health issues is concerning. That being said most of this is caused by drugs which of course moved the conversation to the boarder crisis and it's affect in our counties. Along with the discussion of drugs-human trafficking came next. You hate to think it's in our towns-but it is. On a positive note, Sheriff King discussed the outreach programs he's instilled in the Johnson County Jail and the positive impact it's having.
